Rianne has returned home after years away, however, she doesn't live in the village, she lives in the woods. She is feared by almost all that know her. Being a witch with intense powers that someone her age should not have, Rianne is left lonely and hurt. Little do the villagers realize that she continues to keep them safe from dangers that lurk in their midst even if there is no one protecting her. Will Rianne ever find someone to love her, protect her, and care for her?

Elirah is riddled with emotions, desires, and needs that a dragon should not have. He is bonded by his soul to his high priestess and offers her his support and protection to ensure not only her safety, but that of  villagers. These tasks should keep a dragon satisfied and content, but Elirah is restless for reasons he can not understand until he meets Rianne. Drawn to her, he must come to understand his human thoughts and his heart. Sure he gave his soul to his priestess; though he wants a closer bond with Rianne. Will Elirah be able to give Rianne what she needs in return for his heart?

The Dragon's Woman is the third story in a trilogy. Although I have not read the first two, I enjoyed the imagery, plot, and characters of this novel without any problems. This story could stand on its own merit, but has intrigued me to want to go back and read the two other books I missed. Rianne is riddled with loneliness, yet has a passionate side waiting to be discovered. Elirah is an honorable dragon that does what is needed and when his human needs are exposed he is just as honorable. He just has to understand his feelings. There is an underlying plot of danger and emotions. I was quite pleased with the journey I experienced within the pages of this story. Shiloh Walker has done a wonderful job in creating a fantasy world where its inhabitants have very realistic emotions even if some of them belong to a dragon. 4 flames out of five.
