Asher VonTesmar is High King of Diranda and Director of one of the Fifth Quadrant's most powerful governments, the Directorate. He is considered in many men's opinions to be an evil dictator. Including his son Gaston VonTesmar who knows just what type of man his father is.

When the alliance between the Directorate and the Commonwealth are jeopardized by Asher, the Ranee decides something needs to be done, but does not want to start a war between the Ranee and the Diranda.

Palil Yaran, a member of Commonwealth, goes to treasure hunter Captain Alexandra T'Kayn to find out what man has Diranda in his heart's blood and enough political power to save their planet by assassinating Asher and saving everyone from a war and from the blood thirsty Rysusi Legion, who without the alliance between the Directorate and the Commonwealth has a very good chance of Quadrant wide domination.

Though she doesn't like it, she tells Palil that Gaston VonTesmar (The Peacekeeper) is the man that he wants. Alex and Gaston have a one night history between them of when Gaston rescued Alex from Jeron Silstrun (a member of the Rysusi Legion) that neither of them can put behind them, even though Alex is the first to say she doesn't even like Gaston and Gaston has decided to claim Cassandra Deavalon as his.

While Palil is talking to Alex, Gaston and others loyal to Diranda are already plotting the ritual assassination of Asher. When Alex gets drawn into the plot things begin to heat up.

Asher at the same time the others are plotting against him is plotting with Jeron Silstrun to side with him against the Commonwealth and in return Asher will give Gaston to Jeron.

Can Gaston and Alex make the plot work and save their world from war? Can they manage to stay out of Jeron's clutches and will they find each other or will they find happiness in others arms?

Tabitha Bradley takes the reader on a trip to another world and draws them in completely. Her characters have engaging personalities and the story has numerous side plots to go with the main story line so a reader is constantly entertained. I would suggest reading the previous books before reading Peacekeeper to help with background information, though Peacekeeper is an excellent read all by itself.
