Kate gets cold feet just before her marriage and takes off a couple days before her wedding to be alone and think things out. Headstrong, she didn't count on a sudden blizzard, but drives onward on slippery, winding, country roads until she crashes and her new car rolls into a ditch. Still conscious, but unable to get out of the car, she believes her foolishness will cause her death.
Dayton's dog, Duke, lets his master know that something is wrong outside. A bachelor, Dayton, living alone, peers through the frosty window and notices lights where lights shouldn't be. He puts on a heavy jacket and hastens to give aid. He finds Kate trapped in the car and manages to free her just in time, for her car is soon a raging blaze. He takes her into his house and tries his best to help her. She appears to be okay except for a few cuts on her head, that don't appear life-threatening, and she is chilled. He notices within a few minutes that she has a sharp tongue, and what appeals to him least is her red hair. He had recently ended a relationship with a vicious-tongued red-head and doesn't want another. With the roads so hazardous and believing Kate is not seriously hurt, he offers her his bed, and watches her during the night. But things happen during the night that neither of them had planned that cause serious consequences they must later face and deal with. The story continues with twists and turns to a happy conclusion.
Set in Canada's Maritime Region, Carol McPhee's descriptions capture the area well, and her characterizations make the hero and heroine very real to the reader. NONE SO BLIND is a page-turner that will keep the reader glued to the book until the end.
