Paranormal/Mystery

The Rhine Research Center, well known for their research into the field of parapsychology, has gathered some of the most respected writers in the field for this collection of eerie tales of mystery and macabre, all with a paranormal twist.

This collection starts off with a bang featuring  A Little Light on the Subject by Martha C. Lawrence. The story features a psychic private investigator having to deal with skeptical cops and a high profile murder case. A well written and edgy selection. Can the science of astrology help find a murderer? This question is explored in Hidden in Plain Sight by Skye Alexander. When the talented and controversial artist, Sebastian Avery is murdered, Charlotte McCrae sets out to find out who killed her college friend, using unconventional means. Imagine being homeless and having to wear the discarded clothing of others to survive. Now imagine that you are a psychic and empath who "feels" the pain and emotions of the previous wearer. The Bag Lady Caper by Margaret DiCanio follows Octavia O'Sullivan as she responds to the urgent plea of her coat's previous owner, now dead.

Some of the selections are a bit macabre, such as Cold Case by L. L. Bartlett.  As a favor to his brother, Jeff Resnick is called in to help in the case of a four-year-old boy who went missing eight months prior; at great emotional cost to the psychic. The discovery of psychic ability takes a new twist in Emily Sees Red by J. M. M. Holloway, where a child is coming to terms with her new found abilities. These are just a sampling of the stories that await the reader of this unique collection.

Paranormal enthusiasts will be in their glory with this collection of more than 20 short stories featuring various encounters with the paranormal. The stories are intelligent, witty and satisfying reads. From the hard boiled detective story, to encounters with ghosts and other things that go bump in the night, brave readers will be up well past midnight.
