Laura arrives home to find her nosy neighbor being nosy once again. After the week she had at work and coming home to her empty and lonely home, she decides she needs a vacation to shake things up. As luck would have it, she receives a postcard announcing the grand opening for a bed and breakfast in New Orleans. Driven to visit the beautiful mansion, she schedules her trip and packs to enjoy a quiet and relaxing few days away.

Upon arriving in New Orleans, Laura senses that the cab driver has a difficult time believing that she wants to be dropped off at the mansion and he can't wait to leave. Not only that, the butler is stand-offish and the housekeeper seems to drift across the floor instead of walk. Surely, she is more stressed or tired than she originally thought. Laura could have believed that, if there wasn't a handsome ghost there claiming to be her husband and awakening sensations within her that she doesn't understand.

Greenwood Manor opens with a woman desperately wanting a vacation and ends with that same woman wondering how her vacation changed her. Laura's personality is one consumed with compassion and love if only she had someone to share it with. Barnabas opens Laura's eyes to things she doesn't understand nor remember. This imaginative tale is heart-felt and touching. As the plot comes to its conclusion, readers will be pleasantly surprised yet again with a twist. Shannon Leigh has done a tremendous job adding elements to this story that will send readers on a roller coaster of sensations. She has written a remarkable love story worth 4 mansions out of 5.
