Walter Ihlefield
I've been a member of the Studebaker Driver's Club since 1992 and am restoring a '61 Hawk and a '58 Scotsman. Some people play golf, SCUBA dive, are Martial Artists, or write novels. Some even review novels for other writers. Well, as a matter of fact, I do all of the above mentioned activities. I started playing golf in 2000. And while I don't consider myself to be a full-fledged golfer, I do enjoy chasing the dimpled demon down the fairway. (Or into the woods.) I started taking Tae Kwon Do back in 1981 and advanced to Second Dan Black Belt before an old injury surfaced and lessened my abilities. I don't "practice" now, feeling that as my abilities went down hill, I would have to give back some of my belts. I was certified Advanced Open Water Diver (PADI) in 1998. That means that I can go out in the ocean and jump off the back of the dive boat. (A lot healthier, in my opinion, than jumping out of an airplane.) I was Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1974. (Active Service ended in December of 1972.) I was stationed aboard the USS FRANKLIN D ROOSEVELT CVA-42 as a Radarman billetted in Electronic Warfare. I wish to make it clear that I was NOT a part of the Navy's SEAL Program. SEALs have a place in my work because they embody the three things I strive for: Honesty, Integrity and Determination. (These are the values Mitchell Parks' grandfather instilled in him as he was growing up.) I have found that people who live near the water (any body of water) tend to relax a lot while they are pursuing their intended goals. In the winter when the leaves are on the ground, I can see the James River from my office window. This is where I write. And read. And review novels for other writers who are struggling as hard as I am to achieve some recognition for our efforts. I share my life with Susan, (my Love and Light,) numerous dogs (from Yorkies to Great Danes) and cats. And, of course, the characters from my books.(Log on to Walter's (Jud's) website at: http://bansheerising.tripod.com/ihlefield/index.html

Brian Rouff
Brian Rouff is the author of DICE ANGEL, a funny offbeat novel that takes readers on an insider's tour beyond the Las Vegas Strip. Brian has lived in Sin City since 1981, and knows where the bodies are buried (so to speak). As a longtime local, he feels that Vegas provides an endless source of material.

"This is the only novel I’m aware of that looks at Las Vegas from a local angle,  Brian says. "Most books and movies are written by carpetbaggers,' people who fly into town for a week or two and think they've got a handle on this place. That's impossible.

Dice Angel explores the city through the cynical eye of a bar owner who is down on his luck, and the quirky cast of characters that surrounds him: Pete, the homeless ex-stockbroker; Poon, the Chinese-American revenue agent who moonlights in a Jimmy Buffett tribute band; and Amaris, the Dice Angel herself, who promises good luck at the crap tables. Is she a con artist, a whack job, or the real deal? That's the question at the heart of DICE ANGEL.

"Anybody who has lived in Vegas knows people just like this,  Brian says. "This story could only take place here.

In real life, Brian owns a small advertising/marketing firm, serving clients in the fields of travel, hospitality, computer software, and education. Born in Detroit and raised in Southern California, Brian graduated from UCLA in 1977 with a degree in Communications. He is married with two grown daughters and a new grandson, his first. Primal Scenes
Stories of Radical Witness
by Richard Geha
Creative Arts Book Company
ISBN-0-88739-210-5
285 pages

Primal Scenes: Stories of Radical Witness grasps the senses in a masterful expression of human emotion. As events first forged in the child's psyche, such scenes entail experiences of radical witness. These might include the devastating consequences that attend a child's violent, fantasmic interpretations of parental intimacy, or a disastrous early seduction, or a fatal attempt to return to and master tragic origins. Richard Geha explores his characters' dramatic reconstructions of these traumatic events. With these stories we venture into a cosmos of deep poetry, ironic philosophies or imagination, and the sexual currents that flow beneath everyday reality.Richard Geha has a M.A. in English Literature and a Ph.D. in psychology. He has taught numerous undergraduate and graduate psychology courses and is currently a psychoanalyst. While Dr. Geha has published many articles in professional psychoanalytic journals, "Primal Scenes" is his first work of fiction. For more information, e-mail
