Dirk Raven, the youngest of the Raven clan, is determined to take on this assignment alone; if only he could convince his brother John he can handle it. A young woman is missing in the Kentucky hills, and a clutch of vampires are suspected in her disappearance.
Casey Delaney, a genealogist, is abducted while researching in an old cemetery by an abandoned mine. She is now held captive in the lair of an evil monster, Connor Fagan. For two weeks she has survived in the dark, mindless with fear. Casey has already been bitten once; how much longer can she resist before succumbing to his sensual control. She waits in the darkness, silently praying for her savior.
As Dirk arrives at the abandoned mine, his mind is assaulted with a cry for help so powerful he has no choice but to react. When he challenges Connor for possession of Casey, little does he realize that this mission will bring him face to face with an ancient vampire, the monster who has fueled the centuries old battle between the Unkindness of Ravens and the vampire horde; the one who has made this battle personal. Now Dirk must save Casey before she crosses and destroy this evil vampire or risk losing his soul.
Dirk the Savior is a fast paced, sensual read. Dirk and Casey have an instant connection that is full of powerful emotion. Ms. Neeley does a wonderful job of pulling the reader into Dirk's turmoil over saving the love of his life and the need for revenge. The author gives us a tantalizing peek at the rest the Raven clan, and I cannot wait to read more about them. This is the third in the series, but works well as a stand alone. Fans of the genre will love these bad boys with a big heart, check them out.
