I just finished my third manuscript and have submitted it to first reader. We'll just have to see what happens. This isn't a third Guardian book. It's a Romantic Suspense about a homicide detective and a psychic, who just happens to have my job and her daddy is the President of the United States. I have another manuscript already started for another paranormal about ghost hunters, but I might want write a sequel to the romantic suspense. Those interested in contacting me, e-mail Netera@aol.com.

Here you'll learn about my time travel/paranormal, "The Guardian." Portate beyond Pluto to the Almadonian and Elezian universes where The Crusaders, The Realmian Alliance and Quentin Seltar exist. An Interview with Crusader Lea Netera Payton
Of the Elezian and Almadonian universes
Conducted by Intergalactic Communicator Nina LakeEarth/Realm ---Channel 39
Considering the increasing number of Intergalactic Communications necessary for Earth Force 1 to effectively communicate with The Realmian Alliance, it is my pleasure to introduce Earth's Guardian, Lea Netera Payton with a single comm. link. Thank goodness she speaks standard galactian, making this interview easier to assimilate. We have a direct transmission with Lea Netera in Ultima, so let us begin.

Nina Lake: So, what exactly is a Holian Defender?

Crusader Payton: A Holian Defender has been, since the Time of Myths, one of seven men chosen by a Creator to protect mortals from the wrath of the Phantom Force and its Elders.

Nina Lake: How did you attain the title of Crusader?

Crusader Payton: My spiritual brother, Lord Lazarus Alexian, chose me to serve in the second generation of Crusaders. Lazarus considered it necessary training to help me prepare for my spiritual destiny as Empress of Almadon. After my abduction from Earth, by the men of the Crusade, it was believed that I received my paranormal abilities through the Ritual of Transformation. When in reality, I did not. They lie dormant in my soul until the proper time for them to surface.

Nina Lake: Is it hard being a female in such a position?

Crusader Payton: Since I assumed my position as a Crusader, it has been a challenge to earn the respect of the Intergalactic Community. Being a female in a man's world, I often have to prove my capabilities and wisdom each day, whether in the past, present or future.

Nina Lake: What's the worse thing about your uniform?

Crusader Payton: The worse thing about the uniform is that it's white. Short and tight I can live with. Cleaning it is nearly impossible after a battle with a Soul Collector.

Nina Lake: What brings you to Earth in your latest adventure?

Crusader Payton: Quentin Seltar forcefully portated me to Earth because he knew I would accept his Challenge of Guardianship. I could not allow the planet to fall into the hands of evil. Seltar's strategy was actually a simple maneuver to keep me from riding to Lord Amedian's holy sanctuary on Olympia. One of the most spiritually uplifting moments occurs when an Octavian heir rides his/her horse toward the designated site, the heir's soul then activates the rising of the sanctuary, which only appears once in ten thousand years.

Nina Lake: I read that you used to hide on Earth, living like a normal Earth girl. Do you miss it? Do you have a special love for this planet, or is it simply that you take your responsibilities seriously? How many times have you been to this planet? Any neat memories you'd like to share?

Crusader Payton: My mortal father, Crusader Captain Zachary Sinay, ordered my transfer to Earth when I was four years old. Zatarnian Control's Chief Engineer, Neil Mandel, flew a refitted World War II plane out of Electra's docking bay the night Zalteen attacked Zatarn. My mother, Leathea, died that night. My father feared for my safety and my elder brother, Joshua's. I was now in the loving care of my mother's sister and brother-in-law, the Nathans, who I would associate as my parents and Joshua was serving as an Investigator for the Celestial Force on Alpha Base. I would say I sought shelter on Earth and lived there contently through my college years. I yearn for Earth every day of my life. It is as important to me as Ultima and I love it equally for giving me a sense of balance during my loneliest years of existence.

Nina Lake: So, what is Seltar's major malfunction, anyway? Why is it he, in particular, that starts all this?

Crusader Payton: Galdor Lucifer seduced Quentin and his father during the Time of Myths. Quentin's mission as an immortal is to destroy civilization and all that the Creator created in the beginning of time. Quentin plays a major role in the Phantom Force as the Lord of Intarius, headquarters for all that is unholy. Because he is aware of my future Ascension as Spiritual Empress, he will do anything to stand in my way.

Nina Lake: There are so many lovely men attracted to you...John Paul Jones, Dakota (is he single, by the way?), Michael...what is it about you that seems to resonate with so many men? And does this put a strain on your relationship with Lord Azaron?

Crusader Payton: Even a Holian defender can have a crush on a historical leader. That's how it was the moment I met John Paul in the ocean. Being that we're both rebels, we understood each other.

Yes, Dakota is single, but he has taken a liking to Destiny, my holo-rep, who may be given android form for her years of devotion to my quest.

Michael was the first man I ever loved. He was my professor at the university I attended for nearly four years. I learned we were to be married tricons after my abduction and I couldn't have been happier. Well, that was until I learned that my spiritual father, Marcus Alexian, as a way of controlling my first two sons, arranged my marriage to Crusader Michael Paxton. Even though I see it as a soul-deep betrayal, I will also love Michael. And, yes, my love for him has made it difficult to love David Azaron as deeply as I should. Yes, the last names are similar. That was all part of the deception.

Nina Lake: Speaking of which, how many years have you been married to Lord Azaron? How do you two balance your powers, responsibilities and marriage? Some of us have a hard time juggling a couple of kids, the housekeeping and a job!

Crusader Payton: We married shortly before I assumed the role as Earth's Guardian. Because I was married to Michael before my time jump a thousand years in the past, I didn't want to commit adultery, so I veiled my need to be a sexual partner and existed only as a defender. It nearly destroyed David, for he was my soul mate, but that may change now that my spiritual grandfather is sending me back in time twelve days before my first time jump.

Balancing my paranormal abilities, responsibilities and marriage is quite a challenge. I've learned to use only the powers necessary to defend in any particular situation, but I continue to have an imbalance of powers from time to time. This occurs when my soul generates the energies necessary to create and they must be released. My paternal grandmother, Vana Sinay, cares for my children when I'm away on missions and along with a Housekeeper and Butler and numerous general staff members, keeps the Crusader deck functioning properly and clean enough for any white glove test.

Nina Lake: What was the strangest first date you ever had?

Crusader Payton: The same date with David four or five times. Time, for me, seldom goes forward being a time jumper. Time's delicate weave is trying to right itself because my spiritual father, Marcus Alexian, interfered with my destiny. So, hopefully we can settle into married life without repeating our first intimate encounter over and over again. Though, I don't think David minds.

Nina Lake: What is your favorite thing to do?

Crusader Payton: Make love in a field of wildflowers. Also, spending quality time with my children: Eleazar, Lance, Justin and Kara.

Nina Lake: Do you have any plans for the future? I hear you may be coming back to this planet?

Crusader Payton: In twelve days, I will be riding to the Father of the Creators holy sanctuary. I have been told no less than several thousand demons will be riding behind me. Soon after, my mission will become that of Spiritual Empress. My first responsibility will be to create a union between the Elezian and Almadonian Realms and to introduce Earth into the Intergalactic Community with a rule book and a few words of warning.

Nina Lake: If you could say anything to your Story Coordinator, Denise Fleischer, what would it be?

Crusader Payton: To stop watching HGTV on Thursdays and listen to my dictation. I have a hell of a story to tell her and she better write it down.

Katala, Nina Lake. I enjoyed our session. Transmission over.
