Prayer and God's will apply to each of the twelve true stories within this book. Sometimes a woman isn't meant to give birth, but is meant to be a wonderful mother, just as a man may not have biological children but can be as much of a father than any other male. At times an adoption falls through, and a person may be devastated, but this is all in God's plan. Another baby awaits the perfect mother and it may be you. Through prayer one comes to understand all things are within the framework of Jesus's plans, though one may not understand those plans, but must keep the faith.
Faith and prayer are the cornerstone's of Karen Kingsbury's beliefs and she expresses this beautifully in this short book. Most of the stories are guaranteed to bring a tear to your eye. These dozen true experiences are beautifully written and includes the author's adoption of three orphans from Haiti and making them the brothers of her three natural children. A must read for anyone who is considering adopting a child, giving up a child for adoption, and for the person who was adopted. Karen Kingsbury has written beautiful insights into the adoption process. Though this book is slanted to the Christian prospective, I believe people of any faith can benefit by reading this book, and learn more about motivations of those involved in the adoption process. Wonderful book for anyone thinking of or having been adopted.
