Morgan McAfee is proud to be both the daughter of a Druid as well as a practicing Druid herself.  Her mother, Vivianne, is a well known healer who many turn to when they are in need.  Morgan has visions and is often able to find things or people if the goddess or god decree it. When Commissioner Devon Randall, a close personal friend of Vivianne, is dealt the blow of having his young son, Jamie, kidnapped and held for ransom it is Morgan that he calls on to help the Chief Inspector assigned this case.

Chief Inspector Lord Laniston Dellafield, known as Lucky Lance to his men, is not thrilled to learn that he is expected to share information with a woman who claims to be able to help. He doesn't believe in magic or any supposed powers she might possess and finds it hard to disguise his disgust. But she is what she says and the more he is in her presence the more Lord Lance finds himself falling for Morgan.

But fate and the criminal element are decidedly against these two as one crime leads to another and Morgan deems it necessary to keep distance between them as they will be working together.  But love always finds a way to bloom in the heart of adversity and Lance and Morgan are drawn to one another no matter what distance they each try to maintain.

Druid's Daughter is a well crafted novel filled with vivid imagery and delightful historical insight. The story takes place in England during the late 1800's, a time just after the horrific violence of Jack the Ripper. It is also a time when Druid's are no longer acknowledged by the majority of the populace. Yet here we see not one but two women who are openly Druid and not ashamed to show it. We also see the effect this revelation has on the men who love them.  Not only do you share in the growing love and budding relationship of Morgan and Lance but the relationship of Morgan's mother, Vivianne, as well.  I found Ms. Stewart's story a delight to read and look forward to the next installment in her Garland of Druid's series.  4 out of 5 Quills.
